Sarah Bernhardt is by far the best known and most loved peony in the world and has become the face of all peonies. Sarah Bernhardt is pink in colour, beautifully fraguanced and brings with it an uplifting spring like feeling.

Care
These lovely roots need to be planted in a sunny position, where it catches the sun for the majority of the day. Avoid planting them under trees and ensure they are at least 2 ft from a wall. If planting multiple roots, plant them at least 3 ft apart to ensure good airflow.
Dig a hole which is 8 inches deep by 1 ft round and place the root with the eyes facing up, 1 inch below the surface. Add soil and water generously. Avoid using mulch as it encourages bacteria.
Sarah Bernhardt can sometimes have a bit of difficulty opening. Top Tip: It can help to add a little sugar or 7Up to the water.
